The Research Center for Integrated Disaster Risk Management, CIGIDEN, is a multidisciplinary research center funded by the Chilean Agency for Research and Development, ANID. CIGIDEN brings together research from various fields (e.g., Sociology, Urban Planning, Geography, Psychology, Engineering, and Geoscience).

The position:
To support and encourgae our research work, CIGIDEN is offering post-doctoral research position associated with Work-Package #5 “Climate-induced risks in territories and the built environment”. It focuses on the different challenges posed by fires and heatwaves to communities, institutions, and the natural and built environment in central and central-south Chile. Topics include, but are not limited to: Community-based early warning systems, climate-resilient territorial planning, and disaster risk governance and planning.
The position is full time until the end of November 2025 and a maximum of 3 years, pending funding approval and an internal evaluation.
