The UNDRR GETI partners are conducting the upcoming launch of the Committee of Experts on Public Administration (CEPA) Guidance Notes on the Principle of Subsidiarity, through a “Virtual Workshop on Subsidiarity and Decentralisation for Sustainable Development” on 13th December 2023. The principle of subsidiarity suggests that to promote government that is responsive to the needs and aspirations of all people, central authorities should perform only those tasks which cannot be performed effectively at a more intermediate or local level.
The workshop is organised by the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA), Division of Public Institutions and Digtial Governance (DPIDG), and its Project Office on Governance (UNPOG) and CEPA Secretariat.
