The United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA), in collaboration with various UN agencies and the Republic of Korea, is hosting an online workshop on Effective Public Governance and Finance for Disaster Risk, Local Resilience, and Climate Action. The workshop will introduce innovative tools to strengthen climate and disaster risk governance, including tools for local climate resilience planning and a draft Climate Readiness Assessment Tool. The workshop will also invite participants to pilot the draft Climate Readiness Assessment Tool developed by UN DESA, to help governments assess institutional gaps and identify capacity development needs related to climate resilience.
Participants who attend all sessions and complete post-workshop assessments will receive a certificate.
