 ster Risk\, Local Resilience and Climate Action
DESCRIPTION:The United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (U
 N DESA)\, in collaboration with various UN agencies and the Republic of Ko
 rea\, is hosting an online workshop on Effective Public Governance and Fin
 ance for Disaster Risk\, Local Resilience\, and Climate Action. The worksh
 op will introduce innovative tools to strengthen climate and disaster risk
  governance\, including tools for local climate resilience planning and a 
 draft Climate Readiness Assessment Tool. The workshop will also invite par
 ticipants to pilot the draft Climate Readiness Assessment Tool developed b
 y UN DESA\, to help governments assess institutional gaps and identify cap
 acity development needs related to climate resilience.\nParticipants who a
 ttend all sessions and complete post-workshop assessments will receive a c
