This prize is open to all fields of earth science, and typically awarded at the mid-career stage or later. Nomination packages (comprising a letter of 1000 words or less for an expert colleague, plus the nominee´s CV) are due 31st December 2023. Candidacy is open to those with careers of outstanding achievement in their dicipline as demonstrated by major contributions to new knowledge or the development of siginificant new models of analysis. Individuals of all nationalities and institutional affiliations are eligible except current or recent members of the Northwestern University faculty and recipients of the Nobel Prize. Nominations are retailed and considered for the next cycle as well. The recipients of the 2024 biennial prize will visit Northwestern for a week or more in 2024-2025 to interact wirth our faculty and students in Earth and planetary science and to give a public lecture.
