SUMMARY:Nominate a colleague: $300k Nemmers Prize in Earth Science
DESCRIPTION:This prize is open to all fields of earth science\, and typical
 ly awarded at the mid-career stage or later. Nomination packages (comprisi
 ng a letter of 1000 words or less for an expert colleague\, plus the nomin
 ee´s CV) are due 31st December 2023. Candidacy is open to those with care
 ers of outstanding achievement in their dicipline as demonstrated by major
  contributions to new knowledge or the development of siginificant new mod
 els of analysis. Individuals of all nationalities and institutional affili
 ations are eligible except current or recent members of the Northwestern U
 niversity faculty and recipients of the Nobel Prize. Nominations are retai
 led and considered for the next cycle as well. The recipients of the 2024 
 biennial prize will visit Northwestern for a week or more in 2024-2025 to 
 interact wirth our faculty and students in Earth and planetary science and
