Mit den CIDR Talks 2026 startet das Center for Interdisciplinary Disaster Research (CIDR) an der Rheinland-Pfälzischen Technischen Universität Kaiserslautern-Landau (RPTU) eine neue Online-Vortragsreihe. Die Talks bringen Perspektiven aus Forschung und Praxis im Bereich Disaster Risk und Resilienz zusammen und richten sich an Wissenschaftler:innen, Praktiker:innen sowie alle weiteren Interessierten.
Den Auftakt bildet am 28. Januar 2026 ein Vortrag von Rupesh Shrestha, M. Sc. (Kathmandu Valley Preservation Trust) zum Thema „Resilient Housing in Nepal“. Rupesh Shrestha ist Architekt und arbeitet direkt vor Ort an resilienten Bau- und Erhaltungsprojekten in Nepal. Zugleich ist er Kaiserslautern durch sein International Climate Protection Fellowship der Alexander von Humboldt-Stiftung (2021–2022) verbunden. (Registrierungslink)
Es folgen am 11. März 2026 Derin Kent (Warwick Business School, UK) und Gloria Kutcher (Southampton Business School, UK) mit dem Vortrag „How boundary blurring enables positive work relationships in confined work settings“ (Registrierungslink) sowie am 27. Mai 2026 ein Vortrag von Prof. Dr. Michael Grothe-Hammer (Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Trondheim, Norwegen) mit dem Titel „Co-fabricating the permanent to enable temporary organizing: Insights from an ethnography of emergency response operations“ (Registrierungslink).

The series will kick off on January 28, 2026, with a lecture by Rupesh Shrestha, M.Sc. (Kathmandu Valley Preservation Trust) on the topic of “Resilient Housing in Nepal.” Rupesh Shrestha is an architect and works directly on site on resilient construction and conservation projects in Nepal. He also has ties to Kaiserslautern through his International Climate Protection Fellowship from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation (2021–2022). (registration link)
