The German Committee for Disaster Reduction (DKKV) is once again announcing its annual award for 2026. The award recognizes outstanding Bachelor’s and Master’s theses in the field of disaster risk reduction and disaster risk management.
The award is aimed in particular at early-career researchers and is endowed with €500 (Bachelor’s) and €1,000 (Master’s). In addition, the award winners receive a two-year membership as a Young Professional within DKKV.
The focus is on innovative and practice-oriented work, particularly with relevance to operational civil protection, for example in the areas of emergency medical services or air rescue.
Applications can be submitted until 30 April 2026. A prerequisite is that the thesis has already been graded and is no older than two years.
