The seventh Cities on the Frontline session of 2025 focuses on energy resilience as a key pillar of disaster preparedness. It will introduce the updated City Energy Resilience Framework (CERF) by R-Cities, which helps cities connect infrastructure planning with disaster risk reduction and climate action. Eskedar Gessesse will present the CERF tool, Natalia Romero will provide a global perspective on resilient energy systems from the World Bank’s work, and Bianca Perez will share examples from Quezon City, including solar projects, neighborhood programs, and improved community energy access. The session aims to show how forward-looking energy planning can save lives.
