Next week’s Landscapes Live seminar will be presented by Dan Parsons, a researcher from Loughborough University in the UK, on Thursday, June 5th, 2025, at 16:00 CEST. Dan Parsons specializes in flood risk and geomorphology and will discuss how changes in river channel morphology affect flood hazard and risk assessments. His research reveals that current global flood models often underestimate flood hazards and population exposure because they do not account for dynamic changes in river channels caused by erosion and sedimentation, as demonstrated in his study of the Mississippi River floodplain using the Fathom model.
The seminar will be held live via Zoom, which you have to register for in advance.
