Resilience grows when knowledge, experience, and imagination are shared across generations. By bringing together people of different ages, communities can broaden their understanding of disruption, preparedness, and survival.

This webinar explores how intergenerational learning can:

  • deepen understandings of what disasters and crises mean in everyday life,

  • strengthen practical, everyday forms of preparedness, and

  • support the development of more inclusive and resilient futures.

The session will be led by Dr Chika Watanabe, Senior Lecturer in Social Anthropology at The University of Manchester. Drawing on her participatory and ethnographic research, she will demonstrate how collaborative and creative approaches can uncover powerful, lived practices of resilience that often remain unnoticed.

The webinar is part of the i-NCSR+ / NCSR+ / RBOC+ webinar series, which brings together resilience practitioners, partnerships, organisations and communities from around the world to exchange insights on strengthening societal resilience.
