Cities worldwide are increasingly facing hazards and shocks that highlight the urgent need for improved resilience and climate action. The rising frequency of climate-related natural disasters poses unique challenges for urban areas, often exacerbating socio-economic inequalities and disproportionately affecting vulnerable populations.
The „Making Cities Resilient 2030“ (MCR2030) initiative will host a webinar on climate and disaster resilience in cities. Experts will present innovative strategies, best practices, and tools to enhance urban resilience, with a focus on knowledge sharing and peer learning. The event targets city officials, urban planners, disaster risk reduction specialists, and climate adaptation experts. Organized in collaboration with UNDRR, AIT RRC.AP, UN-Habitat, UCLG, and ICLEI, the webinar aims to support cities in building sustainable resilience against increasing climate challenges.
