The IIASA Energy, Climate, and Environment (ECE) Program is offering a position for a strong candidate who will closely collaborate with co-chairs, authors and chapter scientists of the AAR2, as well as researchers in ECE to facilitate the assessment and management of the review process and stakeholder engagement.
The ECE Program is one of the leading scientific research institutions in the domain of integrated assessment of climate change and the systems transition to implement the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The ECE program will contribute to the coordination of the Second Austrian Assessment Report (AAR2), a comprehensive and holistic analysis synthesizing scientific knowledge of climate change in Austria. It will summarize the physical manifestation of climate change over the past century; it compiles scenario data for future changes in weather patterns and extreme events and associated impacts; and it identifies response options and pathways for mitigation and adaptation to reach net zero GHG emissions within the next two decades.
This project is funded by the Klima und Energie-Fonds and was developed under the auspices of the Austrian Panel on Climate Change (APCC) and in close collaboration with the Climate Change Centra Austria (CCCA). The AAR2 will be the latest and most comprehensive report in a series of assessments on climate change by the APCC.
