Connective Cities invites to a session on “Building Climate Resilience: Lessons from Flood-Prone Urban Regions in Central Viet Nam and the 2021 Floods in Western Europe” on 12 July 2023. The talk will draw on findings from the FloodAdaptVN project and the “UNU Climate Resilience Initiative”.
Topics discussed will include how to tackle the growing risks of climate change, including how to adapt to climate-induced extreme weather events and how to ensure climate-resilient development. This “Insight Session” will reflect on global mega-trends affecting flood risks in urban regions and share experiences from flood prone-urban regions in Central Viet Nam and recent catastrophic floods in Western Europe for understanding and managing flood risks and impacts both in the short- and long-term.
