DESCRIPTION:Connective Cities invites to a session on "Building Climate Res
 ilience: Lessons from Flood-Prone Urban Regions in Central Viet Nam and th
 e 2021 Floods in Western Europe" on 12 July 2023. The talk will draw on fi
 ndings from the FloodAdaptVN project and the “UNU Climate Resilience Ini
 tiative”.\n\nTopics discussed will include how to tackle the growing ris
 ks of climate change\, including how to adapt to climate-induced extreme w
 eather events and how to ensure climate-resilient development. This “Ins
 ight Session” will reflect on global mega-trends affecting flood risks i
 n urban regions and share experiences from flood prone-urban regions in Ce
 ntral Viet Nam and recent catastrophic floods in Western Europe for unders
 tanding and managing flood risks and impacts both in the short- and long-t
