The German Insurance Association (GDV) has published its sealing study: “Ludwigshafen is the most sealed city in Germany“.
According to GDV, Ludwigshafen am Rhein is the most heavily sealed city in Germany. “Around 67 percent of the settlement area is built on, concreted over or asphalted,” says GDV CEO Jörg Asmussen. This is the result of a recent study conducted by VdS Schadenverhütung on behalf of the German Insurance Association. For this, the average degree of sealing in the settlement areas of 134 cities was evaluated. These include the three city states and the ten most populous municipalities in each federal state.
