Last Thursday, November 9, 2023, the Rhein Flood Emergency Association. met at the zoo in Neuwied. Around 25 stakeholders from various areas, such as local politics and the fire department, came together for a day to discuss developments in connection with flood events. DKKV Managing Director Benni Thiebes moderated the day and presented DKKV’s work in connection with the 2021 flood disaster and the associated lessons to be learned in his presentation “How to master the Disaster?”. After some keynote speeches, the participants came together in three groups and exchanged views on crisis organization, crisis communication and crisis support, referring to local challenges and good practice examples.
