Today (15 September), the DKKV attended the grand opening of the new premises of the Institute for Qualifying Innovation Research and Consulting GmbH (IQIB) in the historic thermal baths in Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler. The IQIB is a subsidiary of the German Aerospace Centre (DLR).

At various themed stations, guests were able to learn about the diverse areas of work covered by the IQIB – including the IQIB Academy (from training courses for smart city managers to online training in the field of health research), the RESITEK project, which develops AI-supported data and visualisation systems for modern crisis management and disaster prevention, as well as contributions to space research and its significance for our everyday lives.

The new IQIB was opened by Managing Director Roman Noetzel, followed by welcoming remarks from Minister President Alexander Schweitzer and Klaus Hamacher (Deputy Chairman of the DLR Executive Board). Alexander Schweitzer (Minister President of Rhineland-Palatinate), Cornelia Weigand (District Administrator of the Ahrweiler district), Guido Orthen (Mayor of the town of Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler), Klaus Hamacher (DLR) and Roman Noetzel (Managing Director of IQIB) took to the podium to discuss the topic of ‘Resilience through Innovation’.

The DKKV is looking forward to continuing its great collaboration with its partner in the Ahr Valley.
