There will be a Connective Cities Expert Exchange online event on volunteering in disaster management on Monday 5 June 2023 from 13:00 to 15:00.
In disaster management, organised volunteerism and the organisation of spontaneous helpers are of great importance. When natural disasters or other emergencies occur, quick action is needed to alleviate the suffering of those affected and minimise the impact of the disaster. In these situations, volunteers can play an important role in supporting professional rescue workers and improving crisis management.
In the online event, Connective Cities would like to discuss with municipal experts from around the world how to create structures for organised volunteering and organising spontaneous helpers and what to consider when planning.
