DOD 2024 will take place next summer 2024 as the ‘International Workshop on Dynamics of Disasters: Hybrid Threats’ (DOD 2024), which will be held from 30 July to 1 August 2024, concurrently with the 19th International Conference on Availability, Reliability and Security (ARES 2024) at the University of Vienna. All aspects related to the dynamics of disasters are of interest for DOD 2024, in particular optimisation, computer engineering, mathematical and statistical modelling, data analysis as well as emergency and disaster management.
In addition, DOD 2024 will expand its scope and advance the special topic of hybrid threats, with a particular focus on new and emerging threats resulting from the ever-increasing integration and coupling between the cyber and physical domains. Such new and emerging threats go far beyond cyber-physical systems, which have so far been the main examples of targets for novel attacks and their consequences, which can originate from both the cyber and physical domains. The impact of hybrid threats on our modern societies is profound and poses ever greater challenges to disaster preparedness, civil protection organisations and first responders.

Abstracts and/or papers may be submitted that address all aspects of the dynamics of disasters, and particularly encourage papers that address hybrid threats to be presented at DOD 2024.
In particular, they are looking for papers that address the challenges of the interdisciplinary nature of disaster response and management.

You can submit your contributions until April 30, 2024.
