At the beginning of the week, the DKKV welcomed a delegation from the Turkish Civil Protection Authority AFAD to its office.
Dr Benni Thiebes presented the organisation and history of civil protection in Germany. Afterwards, there was an opportunity to exchange views on risk and crisis strategies in Turkey and Germany while playing the Prevention Game.
In addition, the lessons to learn from the flood disaster in Germany in 2021 were discussed. The next day, the delegation was guided through the Ahr Valley by Dr. Rainer Bell from the University of Bonn to experience the effects first hand.
