On the occasion of the International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction, this webinar brings together perspectives from disaster risk reduction and climate adaptation to discuss progress towards a more climate-resilient Europe.

The event will take stock of achievements and lessons learned from initiatives such as the European projects CLIMAAX and CARMINE, while also looking ahead to the increasing challenges of climate adaptation. A high-level expert panel will explore how disaster risk reduction and climate adaptation can be better connected to strengthen the resilience of regions on the road to 2030.

We are particularly pleased that Reimund Schwarze, one of the DKKV’s members and a researcher at the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research, will contribute to the expert panel as a speaker.

Moderator: Jaroslav Mysiak, CMCC
Speakers: Reimund Schwarze, Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research; Frederiek Sperna Weiland, Deltares; Eleni Toli, Athena Research Centre
