This year the 12th edition of the European Urban Resilience Forum (EURESFO) will take place in Rotterdam, Netherlands. This event is organized by ICLEI and the European Environment Agency (EEA) and will be hosted by the City of Rotterdam.
The forum will focus on six main themes:
- Justice, Inclusion, and Social Resilience – Addressing poverty, housing, and financing to foster equitable resilience in cities.
- New Extremes and Polycrises: From Heatwaves to Water Resilience – Exploring strategies to prepare societies for increasing climate extremes.
- Exploring Nature-Based Solutions: From Policy to Action – Discussing how to scale up and finance nature-based solutions for climate adaptation.
- Financing and Investment Strategies for Resilience Building – Investigating innovative financial models to support local and regional resilience initiatives.
- Resilience Governance in a Polarized Political Landscape – Examining strategies to implement resilience measures despite political polarization.
- Data, Information, and Evidence-Based Resilience Actions – Addressing challenges in data collection and usage to support resilience efforts.
These themes are designed to guide discussions and exchanges during the forum, enabling participants to share experiences and perspectives to tackle urban resilience challenges effectively.
