The 15th International Meeting on Statistical Climatology (15IMSC) will take place between 24-28 June 2024, and is being generously hosted by the Centre International des Conférences on the Météo-France campus in Toulouse, France. The International Meetings on Statistical Climatology are a free-standing series of interdisciplinary meetings that allow statisticans and atmospheric scientists to engage with each other in a congenial and supportive setting to the benefit of both communities. The full registration fee will likely be no more than 300 €, with a discounted “early-bird” full registration rate available until 15 April 2024. Students and remote (electronic) participants will be able to register at half of the rate charged for full registration at the time when registration takes place.
The meeting will include a short course on climate change detection and attribution with estimating equations:
This two-hour course will introduce the estimating equations approach to optimal fingerprinting described in Ma et al (2023) and will include hands-on exercises using the companion R package dacc. Participants will be expected to bring their own laptops and to have installed R and the dacc package in advance of the course.
