Since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, THW has been providing extensive support on behalf of the German government in order to provide targeted assistance to people affected by the war. During her visit to the Ukrainian capital Kyiv, THW President Sabine Lackner emphasised the importance of supporting the Ukrainian civil defence and disaster relief services. So far, relief supplies worth over 130 million euros have been provided, including over 350 vehicles, 120 construction machines, drinking water treatment plants, power generators and protective equipment. Lackner held talks with representatives of the Ukrainian Ministry of the Interior and other organisations to further expand cooperation and discuss future aid. The aim is to provide targeted support to regions that have been hit hard by the effects of the war.
