The THW-Jugend (THW-Youth) Montabaur has won the 18th national competition of the THW-Jugend e.V. in Föhren. Teams from 16 federal states demonstrated their technical skills and creativity in aviation-related tasks. Federal Minister of the Interior Nancy Faeser praised the young people’s commitment and talent for improvisation.

Teams of ten competed at the Föhren airfield to solve tasks such as determining flight routes, rescuing a person, repairing a luggage strap and assembling a wooden aeroplane. The competition, a highlight of the week-long national youth camp with around 4,000 participants, was opened and accompanied by important personalities.

Second place went to Pfaffenhofen (Bavaria) and third to Freisen (Saarland). The competition gave the young people the opportunity to demonstrate their team spirit, creativity and technical skills. The camp, which lasts until next Saturday, also offers workshops, excursions and the opportunity to earn the THW youth performance badge.
