The United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR) and the International Science Council (ISC) have published the updated Hazard Information Profiles (HIPs) 2025. The comprehensive revision provides reliable, science-based information on 282 hazards, divided into eight categories – including hydrological, technological, biological and societal risks.
The HIPs are a key tool for governments, research, disaster prevention, education and planning – and support risk analysis, preparedness, loss assessment and cross-sector strategies, among other things.
Over 330 experts from more than 150 organizations worldwide contributed to the update – a strong sign of international cooperation in times of increasing global risks.
The HIPs are available as a PDF on the website.
