On December 18, 2024, several young professionals (YPs) met at the DKKV office in Bonn for a serious games lab. In the workshop, the participants had the opportunity to try out various serious games on the topics of disaster prevention and risk communication in two rounds of games. The games were then discussed in depth and evaluated in order to develop ideas on how a new serious game could be designed in the context of DKKV.
Parallel to the workshop, a short video was made in which the DKKV and the work of the young professionals were presented. Several YPs took the opportunity to talk about their experiences as young professionals. After the workshop, DKKV invited the participants to an after-work drink, where the evening ended in a relaxed atmosphere. Overall, all participants found the Serious Games Lab very exciting and showed great interest in repeating similar formats in the future.
