Risk | Resilience | Reaction – DKKV-Lunchtalk with CEDIM
A collaborative series of events organized by the DKKV and its institutional member, the Center for Disaster Management and Risk Reduction Technology (CEDIM).

Risk I Resilience I Reaction
Our world faces enormous challenges: climate change, urbanization, and growing dependence on critical infrastructure are making our society increasingly vulnerable to external disruptions such as natural hazards and technical risks. How can risk be quantified holistically? How can we effectively address the diverse risks? What measures strengthen our resilience? And how can we respond appropriately in an emergency?
Starting in mid-September, the DKKV and CEDIM invite you to an exciting series of lunchtime talks. Under the title “Risk | Resilience | Response,” experts from CEDIM will provide insights into current research, innovative methods, and practical approaches in the field of risk analysis, prevention, and adaptation to extreme events in ten compact online sessions.
The focus will be on key questions such as:
What are the decisive factors in determining whether an extreme event becomes a disaster?
How can we use innovative concepts to strengthen the resilience of our society in the long term?
How must existing protection and prevention concepts be further developed to meet the challenges of a changing world?
Join the discussion – we look forward to your participation! Every two weeks on Mondays, one hour at lunchtime – ideal for finding inspiration and gaining new perspectives during your break.
Expert lectures covering a wide range of topics from natural hazards and early warning systems to social resilience
The Lunchtalk series will take place online, every two weeks on Mondays from mid-September to February (22 September 2025 to 23 February 2026).
We look forward spending our lunch break together – always from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.
