Nursing staff are indispensable in crisis situations – be it natural disasters, pandemics or humanitarian emergencies. But how well prepared is nursing care for such challenges? What structures, skills and strategies are needed to be able to act professionally?
The congress “Care in Civil Protection” on October 8, 2025 at the LVR-Landesmuseum Bonn is dedicated to precisely these questions. Experts from Germany, Austria and Switzerland will share their knowledge, present tried-and-tested concepts and discuss necessary changes in crisis management.
The congress will focus on:
- Security in transition: Resilient healthcare civil protection of the future.
- Role, tasks and competencies of nursing care in civil protection, registration, financing
- How are professional nurses in Austria prepared for deployment in crises and disasters? How is nursing integrated into crisis teams?
- What tasks and competencies do nurses have in Switzerland and how are they involved by the authorities?
Further information can be found here. The congress will be in German.
This year also sees the start of the practical implementation of the project: “MODINA – Crisis Resilience through Nursing Competence”, in which DKKV is involved as an associated partner. Find out more here.
