Nursing staff are indispensable in crisis situations – be it natural disasters, pandemics or humanitarian emergencies. But how well prepared is nursing care for such challenges? What structures, skills and strategies are needed to be able to act professionally? The congress “Care in Civil Protection” on October 8, 2025 at the LVR-Landesmuseum Bonn is dedicated to precisely these questions. Experts from Germany, Austria and Switzerland will share their knowledge, present tried-and-tested concepts and discuss necessary changes in crisis management.
The programme has now been finalised, which you can read here in German language:
It includes the opening of the congress with keynote speeches on the role of nursing in civil protection, followed by a panel discussion on the role, tasks and competences of nursing in civil protection, registration and financing. This will be followed by contributions on the involvement of nursing in crisis teams in Austria and Switzerland and an overview of the status of nursing in civil protection in Germany. The day will end with a concluding outlook.
