The EU-funded project RESPIN offers an English-language online self-paced course entitled “IPBES and IPCC: Bridging Science, Policy and Practice.” The course is aimed at participants from science, policy, and practice and can be completed independently.
The course provides an introduction to the background, objectives, and working processes of the Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES) and the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). It also outlines opportunities for engagement in both bodies and highlights the benefits of participation, with the aim of strengthening understanding at the interface between science, policy, and practice.
The course is hosted on the Learning for Nature e-learning platform of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). Participation is free of charge, and a certificate is awarded upon successful completion. The German IPCC Coordination Office contributed to the development of the IPCC-related course materials in an advisory capacity.
Further information and access to the course are available here.
