The National Platform for Resilience has today published a statement that addresses key demands from local authorities, civil society, science, business, media, culture and education to the new German government. Under the title ‘Strengthening resilience & making Germany fit for the future’, the platform calls for seven measures to better prepare Germany for future crises.
The demands include improved coordination in civil protection, more support for self-help, sufficient funding and the creation of new collaborations and legal frameworks.
The document was drawn up by the members of the platform and signed by 41 representatives. It calls on the new federal government to consistently implement the resilience strategy and to coordinate existing responsibilities and structures more efficiently.
