As part of the WaX consortium projects, 28 fact sheets on various water storage measures have been published. These best-practice examples provide a comprehensive overview of the wide range of existing storage solutions available for urban and rural areas to address the challenges of water management.
The fact sheets are primarily aimed at municipal stakeholders and professionals in the water management sector who are seeking efficient and sustainable solutions for water storage. They were developed in the context of the cross-cutting themes of the WaX project, which were selected at the beginning of the funding program due to their broad relevance across various projects.
Each fact sheet contains valuable information on the main functions of the respective measure, such as rainwater retention, flood protection, or drinking water production, as well as an approximate size of storage capacity and other relevant facts. This helps professionals identify appropriate measures for their specific needs.
The fact sheets can be accessed here on the WaX project website in German language. There, a filter function allows you to search by various criteria, such as the type of storage (urban, above-ground, near-surface, or deep), the type of water stored (e.g., fluvial floodwater or urban pluvial floodwater), and the main function of the storage. Alternatively, the fact sheets can be downloaded as a complete PDF. More information on the cross-cutting theme of water storage can be found here.
