Autumn 2024 was the fifth warmest in Germany since records began, with an average temperature of 10.5 °C, which was 1.7 °C above the 1961-1990 reference value. Despite a prolonged dry period, precipitation was around 25 % above the seasonal average. Particularly warm periods occurred in September and October, with record values such as 35.2 °C in Brandenburg. In many regions, there was an above-average amount of sunshine, with a national average of 324 hours. Weather conditions varied across the federal states, with Bremen recording the highest temperature at 11.5 °C.
