On Sunday, 1th September 2024, the ‘Blue Light Festival – Day of the Rescue Forces’ will take place at the German Museum of Technology in Berlin, dedicated entirely to the topic of ‘Water and Floods’. At this free event, visitors can learn from various aid organisations and experts how they can protect themselves in the event of climate impacts and extreme weather. The event offers exciting insights into the work of the emergency services and includes around 25 land and water vehicles, including a forest fire engine and a water cannon. On the Landwehr Canal, a fire boat from the fire brigade will regularly present water fountains. There will also be hands-on stations such as ‘duck fishing’ and dyke building, as well as children’s entertainment and a knowledge trail with a competition. The festival will take place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. with a welcome by State Secretary of the Interior Christian Hochgrebe and Technology Museum Director Joachim Breuninger at 11 a.m.
