On 10th October 2024, the 26th symposium on municipal water departments will take place as part of FLORIAN 2024. The event offers a comprehensive platform for experts from the fire service and disaster control sector to find out about current developments and challenges.
The symposium begins at 09:00 with the opening and welcoming speeches. The first block is dedicated to the topic of heavy rain management. From 09:30 to 12:00, various aspects will be discussed, including the development of concepts for heavy rainfall prevention and the situation in the Czech Republic. After a lunch break from 12:00, the programme will continue with the topic of dykes and their defence and the challenges of weather forecasting.
The second block of the programme, starting at 13:30, will focus on the application of artificial intelligence (AI) for flood warning. Innovative technologies such as HoWa-PRO and KIWA-MobiKat will be presented here, which contribute to improving flood forecasting and operational management. The event will end at around 16:30.
