On 6th September 2024, the 16th and 17th sessions of the Enquete Commission II ‘Crisis and Emergency Management’ will take place in the North Rhine-Westphalia state parliament in Düsseldorf. The 16th session will begin at 10:00 a.m. and will focus on psychosocial crisis management to promote social cohesion. Experts such as representatives of the German Red Cross and Malteser International will be heard. The 17th session starts at 13:30 and deals with the topics of ‘Warning and informing the population’ in a public part, with experts such as Professor Dr Martin Voss from the Free University of Berlin, Wolfram Geier from the German Committee for Disaster Reduction (DKKV) and representatives of the Düsseldorf Fire Brigade giving their opinions. Both sessions will be livestreamed.
