As part of the “Climate Adaptation Week”, the Federal Environment Agency and the Federal Environment Ministry are calling for online participation on the question of strategies for adapting to climate change. Climate adaptation is about improving preparedness and protection against extreme weather events while preparing for long-term climate changes such as temperature and sea level rise. For this reason, the German government is currently revising the adaptation strategy from 2008 and wants to present a new, precautionary adaptation strategy to climate change by the end of 2024.
Until October 8, citizens can share their ideas and concerns for a climate-adapted Germany on an online platform. The goal is to get ideas and further contributions from as many people as possible for the development of the new precautionary climate adaptation strategy with measurable goals.
