This year we were once again pleased to receive numerous applications for the DKKV promotional Award. Due to the many high-quality final theses, it was difficult for the jury to make a decision. We are therefore pleased to announce that this year’s winners have been chosen!
In the Bachelor’s category, Jana Wiedemann (Berlin School of Economics and Law) took first place with her thesis on “Crisis resilience of emergency food preparedness in Germany”. In her thesis, she conducted a case study of the Covid-19 pandemic and the Ukraine conflict to analyse the resilience of food supply in Germany.
In the Master’s category, Fabian Rackelmann (United Nations University & University of Bonn) secured first place. His thesis entitled “Integration of forest health aspects in flood risk reduction – Implementation, trade-offs, and synergies of distinct forest management objectives” deals with the extent to which forest health influences flood risk.
The two winners will receive prize money (500€ and 1,000€) and a two-year free membership in the DKKV.
The award ceremony will take place during a parliamentary evening in Berlin in October. Further information will follow shortly.
