In the event of a mass casualty incident (MAN-V, MAN-I, MAN-E, etc.), the care of patients must be prioritised, as the number of people requiring care in this case exceeds the immediate treatment capacity of the rescue systems.

For this reason, there are numerous national and international triage and precaution algorithms, for which, however, there is no uniform recommendation for use in Germany.

The Emergency Medical Training Centre in Singen e.V. (NOTIS e.V.) has therefore launched a survey to determine and scientifically evaluate the awareness of and training in various triage and caution algorithms as well as their regional distribution. The results are to be published in a medical journal.
