On the occasion of the International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction, the Geneva Youth Festival invites young people from different countries on 13 October to engage with the topics of disaster risk reduction and societal resilience.
The event focuses on exchange and the active participation of young people. Through interactive formats, participants will gain knowledge and explore practical approaches that can help them better understand risks and strengthen their resilience to disasters.
The festival also provides a space for networking and dialogue and highlights the role young people can play in building resilient communities. It also aims to strengthen the inclusion of youth perspectives in discussions about future challenges and approaches to addressing disaster risks. Participants will have the opportunity to exchange ideas with other young people, discover new perspectives and jointly develop ideas for strengthening resilience. The international exchange brings together diverse experiences and approaches from different regions. In doing so, the event highlights the importance of youth participation as an integral part of forward-looking and future-oriented disaster risk reduction.
