Only three days left until the application deadline: The German Committee for Disaster Risk Reduction (DKKV) is once again inviting entries for its 2026 promotional award for outstanding Bachelor’s and Master’s theses in the field of disaster prevention and disaster risk management.
The award recognises, in particular, innovative and practice-oriented theses, including those relating to operational disaster management, such as in the fields of emergency care or air rescue. The prize is aimed primarily at early-career researchers and is endowed with €500 (Bachelor’s) or €1,000 (Master’s). In addition, the winners will receive a two-year membership as a Young Professional in the DKKV.
Applications are open until the 30th of April 2026. The prerequisite is a thesis that has already been assessed and is no more than two years old.
The award is supported by DRF Luftrettung.
Applications should be sent to foerderpreis@dkkv.org. Further information and application forms can be found here.
