From now on, school pupils aged 14 and above who are enthusiastic about science and space travel can apply for the 12th German CanSat Competition 2025/26. The teams develop a mini satellite the size of a beverage can, which is launched during a rocket mission to an altitude of around 700 metres. In addition to a number of specified measurements, such as air pressure and temperature, the young people can explore their own scientific or technical questions in a freely chosen secondary mission. In doing so, they not only acquire technical know-how, but also skills in project management, teamwork and presentation. The final will take place in March 2026 in the ‘City of Space’ in Bremen, and the application deadline is 5 October 2025.
Further information on the competition can be found on the DLR website.
