On 9 September 2025, the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR) and its Global Education and Training Institute (GETI) will launch a four-part online masterclass on artificial intelligence in disaster preparedness. The sessions will take place from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and will cover the topics of introduction to AI (9 September), AI for multi-hazard early warning systems (23 September), urban resilience and risk assessment with AI (14 October) and ethical principles for the use of AI by governments (21 October). Those who complete all four sessions will receive a certificate. Participation is limited to 1,000 people and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
