Baden-Württemberg and the Grand Est region in France are further expanding their cross-border cooperation in the area of internal security and civil protection. An exchange program for young helpers in civil protection, expanded civil protection exercises and more intensive cooperation between the police forces of both countries are planned.

The exchange program is aimed at young people under the age of 25 from the EU who are involved or interested in civil protection. The aim is to promote international exchange and prepare young helpers to deal with future crises.

In addition, cross-border civil protection exercises are to be further expanded. By summer 2025, Baden-Württemberg and Grand Est will develop a joint exercise concept to optimize cooperation in emergencies.
