Federal Environment Minister Steffi Lemke and the President of the Federal Environment Agency Dirk Messner have officially presented the new umwelt.info portal. The digital service bundles environmental and nature conservation data available throughout Germany for the first time and makes it centrally searchable. This gives citizens, scientists, companies and administrations user-friendly access to comprehensive and high-quality information.
A central element of the portal is a powerful search engine that searches data sources and provides transparent information on data usage. As part of the German government’s digital strategy, umwelt.info promotes the reuse of data and strengthens digital sovereignty. In future, the portal will serve as a central point of contact for environmental information and support transparency and sustainability.
