The German Solar Energy Society (DGS) recalls the negative effects of the sharp reduction in feed-in tariffs for solar and wind energy in 2012/13, which led to a loss of companies and jobs and jeopardised Germany’s leading position in the sector. The DGS is now calling for a reliable continuation and financial increase in the support programmes for renewable energies in order to drive forward the transformation of the energy sector and achieve the climate targets. It warns against populist distortions of the debate and calls for a joint pact for sustainability and intergenerational justice.
