Civil protection and self-help should be more firmly anchored in school lessons. At the German School Leadership Congress, the BBK, the DFV and the vfdb presented teaching materials that prepare topics such as preparedness and behaviour in emergencies in an age-appropriate way for children aged seven to twelve.
The organisations are also planning ready-made activity lessons and interactive offers for older schoolchildren, which are to be made available by 2025. The aim is to sensitise children and young people to dealing with crisis situations at an early age and to strengthen their self-efficacy – in an uncomplicated and practical way that can be used by teachers.
