As part of the symposium ‘Challenges for disaster control’, the DKKV visited the Academy for Flood Protection in Stuttgart on November 08. Together with numerous participants, including from the fire brigade, THW and DLRG, the lessons learnt from the 2021 flood disaster, the difficulties of heavy rain communication and the challenge of cooperation between different actors in the event of a disaster were discussed. There were also presentations by Harald Blum from the Academy for Flood Protection and Dr Benni Thiebes from DKKV.
